My emergency brake pedal goes all the way to the floor, I think it's needs to be replaced. Does anyone have any tips for the job? TIA Lee

Do you use it all the time, if so, maybe the cable just needs adjustment, but here's a bump

Had a new cable, last year. I think the pedal has a automatic slack adjuster incorpated into it and that may be worn out or broke. There is a recall on the cable and controller, (#17124) for the manual transmissions, just haven't found out if my trk is included or may have already been done before I got it. Lee

What year is your truck? Most have to be manually adjusted, the e-brake drums have slots near the bottom for this.

i had the same problem this morning. the brake pedal would not release; pushed on it, pulled the release lever; pushed on it, pulled the lever. Finally the pedal was to the floor, and really stuck. The truck would not move (from the middle of the street). We tinkered (poked around) with the mechanism, and the brake line finally released, but the pedal is still stuck on the floor, and of course the red brake light appears in the dash panel display. At least, i can move the truck out of the middle of the street.

Does any one have some suggestions?
