1968 f100 2wd 360 3spd column shift. i have my clutch fork in now, and my return spring, which by the way isn't returning..... the clutch pedal stays down to the floor. i bought a new spring, but it isn't strong enough(but that isn't my problem). i hooked up my 3 speed linkange on the trans. and i got in the truck to run through the gears(engine off), but the shifter didn't engage like it did before i took it apart... it was like there was less travel in the shifter. i know you think that i have it hooked up wrong, but i made sure not to mess with the two things on the side of the trans that the linkages attach to. but what about this....in order for the engine to fit in the front clip we centered the engine up...it was originally offset about 2 or 3 inches to the passenger side(stock from henry ford himself)....could that throw off my shifter travel? i may end up taking the truck to a tranny shop and let them adjust my clutch and shifter and let them solve my last and final headache. any ideas? i know, it's no fun. thanks, tony
