I have also been getting the P1249 code but my boost has never even been clse to 24 and my SES light has not Illuminated. Have reset the code but it comes back. Still need to investigate the cause as outlined above.

With 1249, as long as 1690 is not also in the code list, the possibilities are: Wastegate Accuator, Wastegate Control Solenoid, Red line. The book says to hook a vacumn tool to the parts listed earlier (post 8) and check for blocked ports in all those parts.
