gotta hate this cold weather

Hey all, its starting to get a little colder here(about 25-30 at night) and my truck is acting extremly cold natured. its a 90 f250 with the 351. i can go and start it and let it idle for at least 10 min before it will move, before then it will die when i give it gas. any ideals? i was thinking maybe o2 sensor.

well i ran a scan and came up with an egr, speed sensor and heated exhaust gas not switching(running too lean) i unhooked the battery and done another scan and came up with no egr code and exhaust running too rich. i might pull the iac off tomorow and clean it.

I have a 96 F150 with 5.0 V-8. Well, I had 5 engine codes for O2 sensors, the headers I have, I have to custom tap holes to put the sensors in, makes the truck run lean without the sensors, but I don't have trouble with cold idling or problems with it cutting out. I'm sure the Idle Air control is your problem with your F250/351 V-8

I just fixed this on my truck (Last friday). It is the IAC. This will keep it running.

Also another thing I had to/did fix is: there is a tube, about 3/4 inch in diameter, and it hits your exhaust before the two expansion chambers ( that might be my truck, its roughly right under the passenger seat.) If this is broken it might cause it to run a little rough as well. There is a fix kit for it, its basically a heat resistant flex tube.

most of the time you need to replace the iac.

when was the last time you did a tuneup?

air cleaners good, the plugs only have about 1500 to 2000 miles on them, i didn't have enough cash when i did a tune up a while back. i think the iac might have helped, but can't be sure until tomorow. this cold weather problem is really the only thing i need to fix.
