Replacement Speaker

I've looked in some of the online catalogs but I cannot find a replacement speaker for the stock AM radio in my '72 F100.
Anyone know where to get one?

If I remember correctly my 67 ranger had a oval 6" by 9" speaker up under the dash. Try JC Whitney or Radio shack. I would be best if you took the old one out to see what the demensions and shape are.

Yeah, I need to take it out. Just ain't got around to it yet. I don't want to have to fab something in but I think that's probably what I'm going to have to do.

i am not sure if this is a route you would be willing to take but i built a box myself for two i believe 4'' speakers and mounted the box on top of my transmission hump i can get the demensions and all the other information if you want i have a manual transmission so i hand to keep that in consideration but all in all costed about 10$. Took a couple of hrs but real simple and easy. I guess the only bad thing is if i ever wanted anyone to sit in the middle seat. Let me know and i can give a more detailed discription if you want

I'm not changing out the stock AM radio. All I need is one speaker.
Thanks for the offer, though.

The 1972 did have a Am-Fm stereo option.

Finding the factory radio, and door speaker bezels will probably be a miracle though.

Just a thought.

Walmart has some car speakers too that should work.

LMC Truck has them. They have a stock single speaker or a dual speaker kit and both will fit with a bone stock look. I'm lookin at the kits for my 72' F100.

i put mine on the dash, my pad was cracked anyways, so i just cut holes in the metal for 2 6x9's. i didn't want them in the doors because i would wreck them quickly due to the fact i have no weatherstriping on the windows. also if i want to go back to stock i can just put the dash pad back on.
