Has anyone wired one that can then be moved to the back of a TT to use as a rear view mirror on the road? Jyust wandering if these cameras come with a quick disconect to allow it to be relocated to the trailer easily after getting hitched up?

I suppose that could be done. The kenwood camera has a single cable (with several wires inside) coming from the camera to a control box.
A quick disconnect could most certainly be done just after the camera if you've got some patience and a soldiering gun.
I've not cut mine open, but I would expect to see a + and - for power and a video signal and shielding. There could be a remote wire in there but I doubt it as the remote power switch is most likely handled in the control box.
I just have to add that my backup camera is the single best thing I added to the X. I hook up to the trailer often and I can line it up every time perfectly. I think it helps to mount the camera close to the hitch setup.
Thanks all for the great input on this subject. I will do the same install that L8RG8R and others did. I want to be able to hitch the boat alone and that view seemed to work fine. Thanks for the pics as well.
Do I remember correctly that the Kenwood camera zooms? Also how far do the wireless ones work? I like the idea of possibly putting on on the back of my trailer as mine is super wide and hard to see behind. Haven't run over anything yet, but I'm sure that day is coming lol!

My Kenwood camera does NOT zoom. Some head units (the video display) may offer a zoom feature that will digitally zoom the picture. I'm not sure of which ones though. My Panasonic won't do it. And to be honest, the picture quality is great for its purpose, but I don't think zooming in would work due to the low resolution. Plus, the lens is quite the "fish eye". It just wouldn't make for good zooming.
