I recently received the latest edition of Classic Truck and saw an article on a chopped top yellow 55 F100. I fell in love with the color and have decided to paint my 53 the same color, does anyone have any idea what the specific color is on this truck? The article just states that its a Dupont paint. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Dave
Dave,
Call around to your local paint jobbers and find one that has a scanner for paint matching. Bring your magazine in, have them scan the picture, and they will fix you right up.
Good Luck!

It is a neat color. Take a look at a Ford Mustang "Chrome Yellow" used on the 25th Anniversary models. 1999 I believe. If you are looking for a very vibrant yellow. It is similar to the color of the 55 you refer too.
Hello, I thought the color was pretty sweet also..I you read the article like I did, just call for information in the telephone book for "D & B Street Rod" in Omaha, NE as the article says this is the painter and bodyshop or go on the interent under a site like Anywho.com and see if their phone number is there. I would imagine they would give you the paint code unless they specially mixed it, heck they may tell you what they did if you give them a nice compliment from the start of your conversation. Scott
