I've been having lots of problems with my F-250 lately (replaced CPS twice, both batteries and I also changed the oil and fuel filter) and Im still having problems. The other day when I took off from a stop light something didnt feel right so I looked back and I left a cloud of brown smoke, I've seen white smoke and plenty of black smoke but brown is a new one for me??? The check engine light came on, but went off after about 30 secs. The GPR is fine, all the glow plugs ohm from .7 to .9, there is no oil in the tail pipe. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks for your help!
I've personally left a few brown clouds myself, however i cannot say that my truck has. Are you sure it was brown, and not a mix of smoke colors that looked brown? Was this in the daylight, or at night when the colors can be distorted?
This happend at 2 in the afternoon so it was deffinately daylight, and I guess it could have been a mix of black and white though I would think that to be more of a gray color, I know where the black comes from so that leaves me with where did the white come from if not the glow plugs?? And why did the check engine light come on?? Can you pull a code if the light is no longer on?? I also checked the coolant and there is no oil in the coolant.
Thanks for your help strokin, I really appreciate it
