It could of been 10 years ago, you kinda loose track of time as you get older. I ran to the auto parts store with my son yesterday. He said look at that old truck, I looked and it was a 79 ford. Then as I thought about it, it's 27 years old. They sure don't seem that old to me, I remember when they were new. Anyway, I know I had read in ford world that ford had bought into cummings, I guess 10 years ago ha ha.
However, cummings was in the running to build the v6 diesel for the ford f-150,
Cummings was never in the running because cummings doesn't exist. There is no such company as cummings.
And by the way, Cummins wasn't in the running, either.
If Ford really owned Cummins, and didn't disclose it to the public, they would be in REALLY big trouble with the Securities & Exchange Commission. Some (all?) of the Ford officers would go to jail for doing something like that. In a publicly held corporation, which Ford is, to not disclose ownership like that is a crime.
I'm glad you know it all partner, you seem to know more than the news and mags, I 'll just start comming to you for all my info and you know how to spell so well. I guess that makes you better than me !! ;isten joker, I don't make the news, I only report it. When you know everthimg, I guess you don't need to scan articles and what not. I went to night school, I don't write very well in the day ha ha !!!!
Cummins was developing a v series diesel for Ford Motor (a 5.5 L to be exact). Cummins contract with Chrysler was for straight series diesel only. The program was scraped after several vibration issues were unable to be resolved.
