IF you think you have to or want to replace your rear I found a nice match from a 65.I understand that approx yr's of 59-72 matches up w/ 53-56.. 61" outside to outside,ford 9", various ratio's, Spring pad correct loc. I found a 3:10 Better than orignal 3

the stock rearend will handle that little 302. Usually we change the rears to 9" Fords because we want better gear selections. With the AOD, you should be able to live with the 3.92 gears. Seeing the final drive of the AOD is .70:1, your 3.92's will seem like 2.79's when in overdrive.
