Maybe check the drivetrain forum for drivetrain topics ?

I think LOCK is the wrong term.

Limited slip or Traction-Loc as opposed to a Locker type rear.

In the wreckers look for a truck/van with an H in the axle code (H2,H4) or L on the axle tag. (3L25)

You can pick up a new traction lock unit for around $200

Is a traction locker something that can be gotten through a local parts store or where could it be found?

automatic lockers and limeted slips in 2wd are scary in snow and ice becuse if one tire starts spinning the other one w/traction engages and you spin a brody w/out trying. Put better tires on and some weight to the back.

do you have a 9" or dana 44? i think they make an aussie locker for both, and im putting one in the front of my f250 with a d44... theyre just a little over 200 dollars and work better than a limited slip

www.offroadlockers.com is their website its going to be fun when i finally get my truck done... but its still probably a year away from being fully complete because of a few special things im doing to it like a 545 stroker running on propane... its also getting a spool rear and 4 wheel disc brakes, 4" full spring lift, then the last thing im getting is 17" rims and 37" tires

Does anyone know of a source for a limited slip conversion for a 9" rear, 3.50 gears? If so,how much $ and how hard to install?

Thanks!

True Lockers are only good for race track use.

They aren't meant for the street use.

i ran my truck with lockers in 2wd (front drive shaft isn't installed) the other day through the lawn with my small tires on (28's maybe) and i got stuck with 1/8 of snow on the ground and 1" of mud below. i think tires and weight are the things you should spend your money on.
