F10J9H43708 is a '59 F-100 with a 223cu six with a 1BC carb. H isnt listed in my info as a place of manufacture, but in 57-8 H meant Detroit and in 61-6 it meant Lorain, OH. That's as far as my info goes. Pete
Hey Pete,
What book do you have for a reference? I dug through my pile and found code "H" listed in "The Standard Catalog of American Light Duty Trucks" as "Lorain Ohio" for 1959 also.
Sometimes these books are incomplete or wrong, and I like to cross reference info.
Thanks,
Brett

Was there any date or model codes? (model code would be found between color and date codes)
Your engine might have been swapped at some point. At the very least, the air breather was. It should read "223 126 HP". If you can locate any casting numbers on the engine, someone here may be able to tell you what year it is from. I hope this helps.
THANK`S Kenny where do i look for numbers on the motor? the only problem im having is i went to get a waterpump and the one off my truck is listed as 1954-1956 also i have a holly type 1904 carb with glass floate bowl and that carb is listed for the 56 the truck sat in a barn for 28 years i am the second owener have orig papers and it looks as if it has never been touched has 49685 on odom i guess someone could have had a bad motor and swaped it in the early years if thats the case ill just work with i got or try to find a 59 223 THANKS VERYMUCH YOU GYS ARE GREAT TERRY
By the way, Terry, if you need to touch up the original paint, or repaint it the original color, your truck's original "Meadow Green" color is still available from both Dupont and Ditzler. The Dupont color number is 55134, the Ditzler # is 40481.(Same color as my '54).

HEY KENNY i got the rest of the numbers cant see how i missed them :-X11 but anyway after the 118 wb is u for paint then f10j 21g thats it the numbers off 223 are EBP-6015-L AND IN FRONT ARE 96-H-11 any more info? thanks alot for all help TERRY
Hi Terry,
Your model code shows it is a F-series half ton 2 wheel drive, and the date code 21G means it was built on the 21st of July 1959. I will try to see if I can look up your engine casting numbers. I'm sure someone here will know what they mean.
In a effort to figure out what engine I am dealing with, I have been searching the forum for insight. I finally found a reference to the same casting number that is on the block. "EBP-6015-L". I pulled it myself from a 60 F100 standard cab, I got it from the original owners son who assures me it was the original engine. It was a farm truck and if the engine would have been swapped, he would have had to do it. The manifold also has the same "EBP", prefix. I have a couple of part number I.D. sites saved in favorites but if you use their data, it looks like this block is from the 80's. No way! I was expecting something like "C0T", but this "EBP", is a total mystery to me. Can any of you folks shed some light on this?
223 Waterpump: B6C-8501-D (replaced B6C-8501-C) / Fits: 1954/56 F100/250/350/500/600 = use with fan mounted on waterpump only. / 1957/64 all.
H thru 1957 = Highland Park (Detroit) MI Assembly Plant.
H beginning in model year 1958 = Lorain Ohio Assembly Plant.
Info sources: 1948/56 & 1957/63 Ford Truck Parts Catalogs / Ford O.S.I. (Obsolete-Supercede-Interchange) Catalog ~ Used to update the waterpump's part number.
If I didn't have the O.S.I. catalogs (have 3 of them, covering 1940/2002), I'd be SOL on FTE.
I also have access to the Ford dealer part locator system which also updates part numbers.
Ford updates 1000's of part numbers yearly, which renders part numbers in old parts catalogs worthless.
