I just got around to looking at this. Krewat was dead on! I was reluctant to try because I thought the lube would make a mess of my window, but a shot of silicone spray lube in the window channels fixed this right up. I used the tube that comes with the can to keep it in the channels and there's no mess on the window.
All I know is what I've been reading on THIS SITE for the past 5 years
Mine is going slow now.
And before I burn out the motor or the switch (hint! hint!) I have to get around to doing this very same thing.
Anyone who didn't get the hint: It's very possible you had to replace the motor, because you kept your finger on the button trying to get it to go down.
I've been putting up with sticking windows for the last couple of years. I got around it by just not dropping them all the way.
I read this discussion, went out and sprayed it real good, and both sides worked like a charm.
I figured it was something easy like this since the windows went down with no problems as long as it was rainy out. I just never got around to doing anything about it.
This is an old thread and im embarrassed to say it, but I've been putting up with a window on my 99 that wouldn't roll down past 2 or 3 inches without helping it for probably 7 years. I finally got sick of it and was looking at changing the motor when I found this thread. I tried the silicone for kicks and it works perfectly. I'm blown away
