Anybody on here ever put a Edge Evolution w/attitude on there truck... I have a 4.6L and want a first hand thought of it.... It sounds pretty dang good and i just want to know if you can tell any differnce when you put it in or if its more power but youll never notice kinda thing...Also does it give you your average MPG and Instant...? Ive done quite a bit of research on it and it says that it does.... i guess i want to know if its accurate at all... Hopefully sombody has some input for me.... Thanks Alot...
I have an 03 f150 w/ 4.6L. I have a cold air intake, throttle body spacer, cat back, and Edge w/ attitude. Yes, there is a very noticable difference. It feels like a totally different truck. The most notice is in the tranny. It hits alot harder. MPG is better by 1-2. Just the ability to adjust anything from timing to shift points is worth it.
It has 3 levels. Level 1 is stock, 2 is tranny only 87 octane + , level 3 is high performance 93 +, I always run 93. It says min of 93 for Level 3 but I have added booster and noticed a little difference. You can have up to four parameters displayed at a time. There is like 15 or so that you can watch.
It can display:
RPM
MPH
Engine Coolant Temp
Cylinder Head Temp
Air Intake Temp
Engine Load %
Mass Air Flow
Spark Advance
Battery Voltage
Instantaneous Miles Per Gallon
Diagnostic Trouble Codes
Average MPG
And others I think. I told you wrong about the levels, let me correct myself.
L1 is tranny only, which you can change the firmness of shifts during regular driving and for wide open throttle. You can also change when it shifts (rpm).
L2 is towing mode, this is where the tranny adjustments will really help. You will really start to notice the power increase in this mode.
L3 is performance mode, this is where you can go all out ad adjust pretty much anything you could think of or want. I guarantee you will love the way your truck feels if you get one. I highly recommend it. A buddy of mine bought the superchips tuner when I got the edge and he told me straight up that there was no comparisson and that he regrets getting the SCT. I would suggest shopping around if you do decide to get one. You will definately find better prices than the ones on EDGEPRODUCTS.COM. Anything else?
i'm interested in one too....my truck is a 5 speed....so, you really do feel a difference in the power of the truck....mine is also a 4.6L....so, even if mine is a 5 speed if i put it on L2 i'll feel a difference in the truck and it's performance.....and L3 it's a noticable seat of the pants power gain...?????
I can't tell you enough how much better and stronger your truck will feel. Seat of the pants performance is amazing. Since I have had mine I took my truck to the dealer to have transfer case work done. At this time I had to set it back to stock and I hated it. Going from level 3 to stock felt like I was driving a Datsun or something.
Unfortunately no I don't have any dyno #'s. I would really like to put it on one though. That's really the only way to get the most power out of your truck but I'm confident you won't be disappointed with the edge.
yes you can add or retard the timing. I wouldn't suggest adding more than 3 degrees though without having it on a dyno to watch more in depth parameters. You can also adjust WOT fuel Percentages.
yea, 3 degrees is about it...that was my next question.....is that abotu what you adjusted...or if you adjusted more what did you adjust.....WOT fuel percentages i wouldn't think would make much of a difference unless your adding timing to it..
