Hi all, To anyone with a '57-'60 Ford, I need your help please! I'm trying to figure out which style gauges came with which style trucks (year and model). There were two different "styles" for '57-'60 trucks. There were the copper plated gauges, and then there were the unplated (aluminum) speedometer with silver painted temperature and fuel gauges.
If you would be so kind as to reply with your year truck, Standard or Custom Cab, and which gauges you have, I'd really appreciate it.
Both my '59 F-100, and my '59 F-250 Custom Cabs had the copper gauges.

I have a 59 with the regular cab. the instruments were kinda beat up up but they appear to have been originally painted a day glo orange rather than copper painted. I found temp and fuel gauges in a 60 that
matched, but in much better shape. Are you looking at the very faded red/orange rather than copper plate???
Wosborn, Thanks for your reply. Is your '59 a Standard Cab, and are you sure the gauges original?
Both of my '59 Custom Cabs had the Copper ones, and I've seen a few original '57 Standard Cabs years ago that had the silver ones.
Thanks again.
Kenny
My '58 has the orig. gauges, the faces (dials) are silver, with a flourescent orange needle. there is a black ring about 1.25" thick on which the numbers are painted with green luminescent paint. This is in a longbed truck with a regular cab.
Thank you everyone for all your input. I'm beginning to get the impression that the copper plated ones were only available on the Custom Cabs for 1959 and possibly 1960 (Too early to say with certainty though). I haven't had any responses from anyone with a '60 Custom Cab yet.
Charles, I'll try to snap some pics of my copper ones.
hey kenny, both my 59 and 60 custom cabs have the silver dials. the 59 i know is original, the 60, im not sure, but the 59 doesnt have the orange needles. the needles on all the gauges is a silver color. the dials are also silver, and the 59 is custom. the 60 has orange needles, and a silver dia. hope this helped. BTW, the 60 is also a custom cab.
Sorry it took so long but here it goes. Silver center, with black ring under silver numbers. The pointer is Flourescent Red. The small gauges are silver. I have the standard cab 57 and according to the original owner it is stock.
Kenny do you have a picture of one of the tach dashes that were in some of the larger trucks. Still want to see those copper gauges.
Thanks for your input!
Sorry, I don't have a picture of the tach and vacuum dashes from the bigger trucks, but I've seen them on E-bay once or twice. The tach and the vacuum gauge go where the "star" shaped design on the instrument bezel would be. I promise I will work on getting that pic posted of my copper gauges soon.
