I recently bought a 97 4x4 5 speed w 4.10's
I got a new new down pipe, straight exhuast, intake, 4 pos chip from Dale Isley at Tymar Performance.
I was giggling at all the romp romp talk. I went out there this morning and guess what.....romp, romp,romp.....about four times and then smoothed out. It was about 30 degrees last night.
Then again tonight when I fired her up after sitting for a while in 45 degrees.......romp,romp,romp,romp, then smooth sailing.
WTF?
I have some other issues since themods, but I don't want to hijack this thread.
I still love my truck, the romping is actually kinda cool as long as it does not get worse. I just hope it is not causing problems or synptomatic of a problem.

Hey guys, great news!!! I have another thread going that I started before I found this one. It is titled "96 powerer storke idle problem." The guys over there found my problem. It was the Transmission Selector Sensor on the side of the transmission. Mine would start fine in neutral, but romp romp romp in Park. I put a different one on last night and now it works fine. I also cleaned the speed sensor in the transmission and now it shifts a lot better. Hope this helps.
