so if the Ford family leaves Ford the new exec will make less?

Get the FORD FAMILY out of running Ford Motor Co. and put someone like Lee Iacocca sp? in to clean it up.You may be right that the employees are making too much, but the basic function of unions needs to be preserved and the coal miners is the best example. Unfortunately there are still miners dying unnecessarily in mines. They obviously need a union to represent them because the mining Co.doesn't care about their safety, just profit. Sorry..I run my mouth sometimes. I just hate hearing people yapping about the American worker when they need to take a closer at the exec's. (That's my 2 cents)
No, I don't suppose he will make any less at all. I am hoping they will make some better manufacturing decisions. Case in point. The newer trucks have been catching fire from (I think) the cruise control being faulty. They knew it was a problem quite some time ago but failed to do anything about it. A guy I know lost his whole house to fire when he had it parked in the garage. It would have been better to have a TSB put out for a fix to this problem. It just makes for bad publicity for Ford.
That I can agree with, unfortunately all manufactures do that kind of crap.

I thought that this year Ford did put the top job up to a family outsider for the first time in history.
Also, Lee Iacoca (Sp?) did work for Ford befor he worked his miracle at Chrysler.
Yes I understand that is true. Hope he does the right thing. Ford has made some bad decisions in the past. How about when they were going to do away with the Mustang. BAD MOVE So many people raised hell they reconsidered.
