I have a 2000 4.6L v8 4x4 manual. I bought the truck about 3 months ago and tried to use the cruise control one day and it wouldn't work. For some reason the previous owner disconnected the cruise control from the brake master cylinder. The connector just dangles and is wrapped in electrical tape.
Before i reconnect it, I want to make sure it wasn't disconnected for some reason odd reason.
Is there a problem with the cruise control on this year and truck?
Everything else on the truck is perfect. Just don't want to connect this back up and cause some problems.
yes, there is a problem, the cruise was recalled on over 4 million ford vehicles, including the 1997-2003 f150. bring it to your ford dealer, they will have the part for it and do it free of charge
They had a recall because the plug would heat up, melt, and cause a big fire. There are tons of pics on the internet of ford trucks that were burned to the gound.
