Fuel Leak

Hello

I am experiencing a fuel leak on my 2002 F150 fx4 screw. Underside of the truck, about midway of the cabin, fuel is leaking fast while engine is running. Almost fast enough to call it a stream. It seems to be following a plastic channel, similar to the channel the oil flows when you are removing the oil filter for a change.

Would anyone have any guidance for me?

Thanks for the help, again!

Dave

Closely check the fuel lines where they run under the cab. I've seen them rub through on the bottom of the cab.
They are a major pain in the neck to replace

Check the fuel filter connections. They should be in that general area.

Maybe your truck is getting so good of fuel mileage it is filling up your tank for you?

That's what it was. It was pushed right up against the cab. Funny thing is, it actually blew out while in the NJ inspection station.

I bet they were impressed when it started leaking
Have you fixed it already? If so, how?

Yes sir, I did. Actually my buddy did. They gave me a 48 inspection sticker, so it had to be done quick. I'm not a mechanic, but really like fixing my truck myself but I'm to slow so I had a buddy replace the fuel line at his shop.
