My "New" 50 F1 from North Dakota
Check out the pictures in my gallery of my "new" 50 F1 that I just bought. It was used on a farm in North Dakota until 1970 and then sat (outside) until last year. It still has the 1970 plates installed and I have the original title, signed off. Other than the paint being almost entirely gone (Silvertone Gray?), it's in remarkabley good shape. It has rust in the usual places but the paint is still on the underside of the fenders, the floorboards, and the frt fender inners. It runs great after I replaced all the rubber parts and rebuilt the carb. I'm trying to decide if I should paint it right away or leave it "as is" and drive it around. It's got a certain character like it is, don't ya think?
By the way, anybody interested in my 63 4x4? My wifes going to kill me in my sleep if I don't unload it soon. I can get away with one old truck but two is a no no.

The guys name for the acid dipping is Jim O'Conner the company name is CARPONENTS RESTORATION SERVICES. Phone is 734-753-4782 You can also find him at www.ecoatking.com His shop is in Belleville, MI.
Acid dipping will remove any bondo and caulking in the truck.
If you want sand blasting done use a company in Mt. Clemens, MI. called STRIP-IT, Phone 810-792-7705. The guys name is Stacy Frank. This guy removed the paint from my 68 Vette last year. He uses different products to remove paint or rust(glass bead, plastic bead alum. oxide Etc.) He has a long waiting list. I'am trying to get my 55 t-bird into him this summer.

Looks like you have a nice solid foundation to start with. Your truck even has most if not all the trim pieces! I'm jealous. By the way, I'm sure you already know this, but you might have to replace some sheet metal before you paint it. When I took my 50 F1 apart I found substantial rot in the floor boards, bed corners, and the part of the cab that bolts to the rear of the front fenders. My truck was already painted by the previous owner and the rot didn't show up until I started taking the truck apart. Anyway, good luck with your new toy!
