Has anyone had any luck with installaling/Finding headers for a 1964 F-100. I am installing a 460 and would like headers if possible. Could any other years work?
I'm sure someone know's the right answer, and will chime in but; I will just give you some though answer/ questions.
I recommend shorty headers; which are common for 460's etc. The reason is clearance of other accessories, like steering, starter etc. Having a straight axle makes things easier in IMO, so even long tubes could be the answer. Have I confuse you yet?
If you are using a 64 chassis you may need to get custom headers like those used on 4X4a which go outside frame rails due to the way steering is on 64s. You may have a slight problem. Air Harley has a 385 in his 63 he can get you straightened around.
As I told you B4 that chassis runs from 57 thru 64, the others are 65-79. Those are where later engines are bolt in interchangeable. There will be no other "off the shelf" headers that fit your application. They will be application specific because of chassis/steering design & layout restrictions I believe. http://www.landlproducts.com used to make them I think, they're pricey tho
