That vid has had me thinking for a long time, my truck weighs about 500lbs more than the jeep but I have about 100hp more without nitrous than he does with it, I bet I could do it. might have to find some paddle tires and give it a try.
Besides if he had been using a BBF he would have beat that snowmobile.
You must be one spooky Evil Kinevil to be around sometimes, Rob! At least it should be a lot easier to recover your Super-Ranger from a pond, though. As far as this thread, we had warnings out about floods around here and I was strongly urged to be cautious. OTOH, I have confidence that my little 4x4 is the best choice we have for getting around over the Clinton River bridges. Not one actual wash-out so far at least far as I know. not that big a deal to re-lube certain things if it came to that. Not sure about draining that front axle though.
Not really, we have some small lakes locally, and for ponds I do know some pretty good sized ones but most of those are about 15-20ft deep. The problem with ponds is the sides are usually pretty steep atleast around here so it's hard to get a nice run into them or back out of them.
I use to river race my old 84 cj-7 in the south bramch potomac in W,Va in a foot or so of water, never had to replace anything in the couple of years I owned the jeep. Maybe I was just lucky, but water is a constant when offroading, so it's done all the time. I wouldn't be to concerned.
