Just bought a 1977 F150 w/351M. Have read in george reid's "high perf. ford interchange book" about oiling problems with C,M @ the #4and#5 main and rod bearings. He talks about routing a supply line from the front oil psi port to the top rear of the engine block.
My problem is the oil psi sending unit is already in the rear oil galley plug hole. I do not see a front tapping for an oil port. Am assuming I need an oil filter adapter kit w/a psi tap to do this. Any suggestions, Thanks. The book I saw this in is published by CarTech. inc.
there is a threaded plug right behind the fuel pump, this is the port that comes directly from the oil pump. you need an "allen" head tool to remove the plug, sometimes they can be a bear. shop trick is to heat the plug up real good and let it cool but be carefull, it is right next to the fuel pump! i try to get them before they cool.
on the rear port you need to install a "tee" fitting on a short or "close" pipe nipple. these hoses and complete fitting kits come up on Epay, there's at least one guy that markets them there.
