Anyone else noticed this scenario?
I noticed it two nights ago and was able to recreate it again tongiht.
After driving a bit, (8-10 miles), I have to slow to 45 mph, drive 1 mile, then I have to slow to 30 mph for town then 1/2 mile for a stop sign. To slow from 45 to 30, I turn the tow/haul "on" tap break and Torqshift to slows to 30 mph. Once I am at 30 mph, I still have the tow/haul on and try and maitain same speed. While trying to hold it constant at 1750 rpm or 30 mph, this thing lopes lopes like a 60's muscle car waiting for its next red light. It shows approx. 100 rpm fluctuations on the tach. It idles fine when I get to to my stop sign. I can't seem to get it to do it (yet) when I start moving again.
Truck info - 04 f350 CC DRW short bed 3.73 32000 miles
Has latest program (cycle injectors for 30 before and after startup and shut down) I believe?
Truck is bone stock and has never been chipped or modded.
I am only driving the truck and not pulling anything when this is happening. Previous owner said something about this problem as well and only noticed it when pulling hard. Could be he never had tow/haul on to notice it in other cases?
you do not need to run tow haul with an empty truck. ford does not recomend this at all. do you have a early build engine? if so it could be the icp sensor shorting out due to the sensor starting to leak.
no it is the late build. havent seen to many icp issues with these, but that doesnt mean it cant happen. icp is the injection control pressure-basically it tells the computer what the hpop is putting out.
