No Shift when WOT

<solved>

Miles now 92K, primarily tows 16k/38' Fifth-wheeler.

Filters and fluid (Mercon SP) 4K ago, level @ middle of "H" zone (TFT=120 degrees).

On annual Snowbird trip from IN to FL, exiting a Rest Area:
ECT/EOT around 160, so did WOT = accelerated to 30-35 mph in lower gear, but no shift !!
Backed off throttle, selected Normal mode (was in Tow/Haul), eased to 1/2 throttle (while running out of On-ramp!!) = shifted OK. Selected Tow/Haul mode, all OK.

Later, not hauling, made a few WOT tests (ECT/EOT=190):
From 0 mph = accel to 30 mph, RPM peaks, no shift.
From 30 mph = accel to 45 mph, RPM peaks, no shift.

This is new issue with no changes from the time I did a WOT run 2 weeks ago (after sitting for a couple of weeks):
Slowed to 20 mph at On-ramp, then 20 seconds of WOT = good pull up to 90 mph (fast enough, test end).</solved>

I'm not positive. Think it was around 3.0 - 3.5K.
If critical, I can do a test run (will take 30-45 minutes to get back with results)

Today's WOT runs:

From 0 mph, WOT accels to 20 mph, RPM peaks at 2900 = hovers, no shift.
Back off throttle slightly = shifts (RPM ~3200), mph = 25+.

Right after shift - WOT - RPM peaks at 2900 = hovers, no shift.
Back off throttle = shifts

Next gear = ditto.
Next stop --- Ford Service................

WHOA !!!!!

After 4-5 runs:

RPM goes to 3200, shifts, runs with new-found POWER --- strong shifts through all gears. Seems like I blew something out (not UP). Ready to take to drag races now.

Whatever it is, it is rather engine, not the trans. You are not getting it fast enough to shift before running out of power.

It could be a plugged fuel filter, a bad fuel pump, stuck turbo vanes, etc.

Thx, Mark

My suspicion was Turbo (needed a swift Kick)
All seems good now - shifting, with good pulling Power from 0 mph to 80 mph (Turbo working again).

I had this same issue with my truck. About the same test results too. I figured it was the turbo and kept doing high pass runs trying to break something free. Some times it would work and other times it would hold around 3k RPMs. Turned out to be the HFCM. Not sure how that worked out. I threw a new one in and haven't had an issue since. Might want to test fuel pressure off the HFCM.
