I would like to swap out my carb. I have a hose that comes from the intake manifold up the the choke. What is that? I know it's a dumb question, but I need help. My truck is a '69 F250 that originally came with a 390, manual choke. The engine was swapped out with a 460 (a '73 by the casting #'s) and I'm not sure if it's manual or electric choke anymore. There is a choke **** in the dash but it may be disconnected. I'm not sure, but I know it has no effect. There are no wires coming from the choke housing. The carb is a Motorcraft which means it's not as old as the engine, but I can't find a number anywhere. That's it for now. Thanks for any help.
Thanks Mil1ion,
That pic looks just like my set up. I bought a new Edlebrock carb that doesn't have nipples for the hoses on the choke housing. When I install it, do I cap off those nipples on the intake manifold, or should I just leave them open?
