Hey this is my first post on this site, iv been readn for awhile and i can't find if the Super Chips micro max programmer works for 1996 F-250 with the 460 or 7.5 gas motor. the item details say 1996-whatever, but the 460 isn't a listed motor. If not the superchips programmer does anyone know of another brand with one or if its worth it to do, i kno they're worth it on other newer motors.
thanks
Welcome to FTE CapnKirk, I had a Hypertech chip in my 94 F-350 4x CC, I haven't checked in while to see if they make programmers for them now, look them up on the internet, and then call them, I had good cust. support from Hypertech
They claim the "chip" will work on 1987-05 FORD cars and trucks. Looks pretty impressive...
IMHO...with your 7.5L...I would not do a chip or programmer unless you are going to address the mechanicals of the engine. The 460 has so much potential...that adding a cam, pistons, port and polished heads, high flowing injectors, etc...will wake it up. Then when all those are done...get the "chip" to custom it for your needs.

I just got off the phone with Superchips and the MAx Microtuner doesn't work with the older 460 gassers. The jet Performance Control Module (PCM) does work with your 7.5 gas motor and we have them here at Motorhavenhttp://motorhaven.autoanything.com/performance-chips/60A1777A0A0.aspx?kc=MOTORH with 214 user reviews on the page for some insight.
The Forum Promo code FTEDEAL will give you $20 bucks off when entered into the cart to save some cash on the mod. You'll benefit with the chip because any tweaking you do under the hood will be accounted for and not overwritten by the comp.
