That's a stumper for me. I have a 97 F-350 with the E4OD. If I understand correctly, "our" Powerstroke engine didn't really evolve until 1994.5 or so. Anything pre-1994.5 is not a Powerstroke.
I suggest you post this question, if you haven't already, on the Pre-1994 Diesel thread. I'll bet they will have an answer for you.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think that transmissions used the same bell housing bolt patterns. It seems to me that there is an adapter plate between engine and trans.
