upgrading heater tips

I got a 87 f-150 and am looking for some heater upgrading tips. the fan sounds like its working, but not alot of air coming out, I put a 195 degree thermostat in but doesn't feel that warm. can a better fan be swapped in, or bigger heater core?

Unless your heater core is plugged or the fan is nearly dead, you should have more heat than you can deal with. Replace the core if it hasn't been done, and the fan if it doesn't move a lot of air. Look for obstructions to air flow when you have it apart, it's pretty easy for something to get down in the air ducts and partially block it.
