When they say 6" here in KC (Raytown too) it usually means we will either get nothing or 12", 8-22" would be fun tho. I don't worry about it even if I have to go to work. Just take what comes, take your time and deal with it.
Of course we can get 2" on one side of town and 12" on the other. The KC metro area is about 40 miles across with only ~2 million in it. Not very big, but enuf to change the precipitation amounts over that distance.
well,a couple inches of sleet/ice last night and then 8 to 10 inches of snow with blizzard conditions on top of that. work was real fun to get home from at 5 this morning!!
I hate this!!!!!!!!!!
So I go to bed with cold and nothing else.
This morning I wake up to 3-4 Ft. drifts on the lane....more than 7 inches of snow (duh weather channel) and hearing my county is connsidered blizzard....so...their goes my fun day of finishing shopping etc.
Just wish dad would have taken my brother's advice along time ago, get a snow plow.
And now -my brother, his wife, and thier new baby- are up here, and they only got her freestyle...yeh like we will get to see them so soon...

we ended up with 12 inches of snow last i heard. cars were stuck everywhere on the way home from work this morning, the snow plow crews were slow getting out. thankfully i had the jeep cherokee even though it was very tricky getting home with it even. 2wd/fwd vehicles were going nowhere much past the end of their driveways. was some awesome deer hunting this afternoon, though!!
Well I got to have fun in this mess too, I go to Peoria everyday, left last night at 11pm (about 3hrs early for me) just got home at 10pm tonight and that was a 443 mile trip. well actually I got to Peoria, only about 4 inches of snow, immediatly got stuck in the parking lot and spent the next hour digging out. Next my relay driver calls me from 30 miles out and it's bad, then we both noticed lightening (got to love thunder snow) and radio announced it was considered a blizzard, well 2hrs later and the relay isn't there yet. He calls me to tell me his is on the offramp to our exit and there is a 2 trucks and 2 cars stuck on the ramp in front of him, tow truck is going to be 4hrs getting there. Well 6 hrs later he is still sitting on the offramp. At 6am IL state patrol called all their officers back in as it was too dangerous, and the snow plows quit also. National gaurd was activated and started working on the roads. ON my way home saw 3 snow plows in the ditch. The tow truck never did show up, the city of Bartonville brought a front end loader out, and cleared the ramp at 4pm (yes 11hrs they had that ramp blocked) and the loader pulled the first truck and then they got the second truck out, state snow plow ended up pushing my relay driver to get him going. so we both sat there for over 12hrs today, good thing I have a sleeper on that truck so I at least got a nap.
