9" Skyjacker

http://www.autoanything.com/suspensi...0A2071447.aspx

I'm wanting to get the second-from-the-bottom, on the list of lifts there. All I will need to complete the lift then is a drop pitman arm, and brake lines..correct?

I'm thinking 38-ish. It's not going to be wheeled hard. It'll be wheeled lightly, at the most.

you'll need 6" at most esp if you dont plan to wheel hard!

go with a skyjacker kit and if you can get the rear lift springs. i promise you wont wanna run the blocks out back. you'll start tearing up driveshafts, u-joints, and if your lucky axleshafts!

Like Fishy said, a 9" lift is too much, a 6" lift would clear 38s nicely.
Also some 5-6" blocks stacked on your factory 2-3" blocks isn't exactly what you want, much less safe. You might want to do a shackle flip and put some kind of add a leaf, or lift spring pack.

Like you said, lift kits usually don't include the drop pitman arm or extended brake lines, which are both needed.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to lift the back if I don't go with this kit then? I know you said add-a-leafs and such, but I don't know much about them. I'd like to have a recipe that someone has used, or KNOWS will work and give me at least 6 inches of lift without breaking the bank.

Well I have 3" add a leafs(about $60), and 3" blocks(I got for free, but only reason I have blocks is because the gas tank is so large you can't get to the back side of the shackles to unbolt them without dropping the tank).
A shackle flip will get you 3" of lift, and only cost is for 8 grade 8 bolts.

Yea, i've done the shackle flip before. There was no bed on that truck though, and it looked like you'd have to have a body lift to keep the bed from sitting on top of the shackle itself. Also, what about custom shackles?

There are dozens of people that have done the shackle flip before with zero problems. You can do custom shackles to get more than 3" of lift if you want. There are several people on here that have done that too.

Well, do you think a shackle flip + 3" add-a-leaf would definately give me 6 inches on the rear of the truck?

The shackle flip will give you 3" of lift, and a pair of add a leafs will give you about 2.5"-3" of lift. So it should be pretty close to 6"s. As it is the truck is already taller in the back so even if it only lifts it 4-5" it'd still be good.

Well, i'm probably going to go this route. 6" lift coil springs, pair of add-a-leaf's, drop pitman arm, extended brake lines, drop radius arm brackets...what else do I need to install the lift and have it functional?

Some 7 degree C bushings, a adjustable trac bar, and if you have sway bars and want them to still be there and fuctional then you'll want some extended sway bar links.

I'm confused though. This is on your 79 F250 in your sig right???
