What would you do?

What would you do if a neighbor gave your dog anti-freeze. No question about IF he did or didnt. You saw him do it. And the dog died...I dont know for sure what I would do, but I am sure I would be JAILED FOR WHAT I DID.....

Call the police and animal control to report him. Testify against him in court.

Bad things happen to people that do bad things. That's just the way it goes. I'm a firm believer in karma.

Step One. Retrieve snow shovel from storage area.
Step Two. Ring neighbour's door bell.
Step Three. Swing for the fences when the neighbour answers the door.

I don't know, but it wouldn't be very neighborly.

first of all, I would keep my dog out of the neighbors yard. If the neighbor came into my yard to harm my dog he would go to jail.. I love my pets, my 8 year old daughter would cry her eyes out if anything happened to her rabbit. We all need to be responsible for our pets, and make sure they're happy and safe from other animals and people.

If the dog was on his property there's probably not much you can do about it,...legally.

I'm a little confused. Did you see someone give AF to your dog? Why didn't you stop them? I know that if I caught someone in the act of hurting any member of my family, they would need medical attention. Self defense or the defense of others is usually justifiable. After the fact, it may be tough to justify beating somebody to a pulp, so you may have to go to the police.

If the dog was on his property there's probably not much you can do about it,...legally.
I'm no lawyer, but I doubt that it is okay to harm an animal simply because it is on your property. Did your dog kill his livestock, or something? Did he tell you to keep said dog away? What's the history here? Inquiring minds want to know!

But you can mount a campaign against him for cruelty to animals and the numerous late night visits from animal lovers would far outweigh any criminal yet well-deserved act you might consider.

I didnt see it but a fellow I know said his neigbor gave his dog antifreze and he didnt know what to do about it. I told him to "do something" even if it lands him in jail, well worth some hard core pay backs i think.

Let the Troopers handle it. He will get a fine and possibly jail time. One of my neigbors is being arrested as we speak for killing all pets that come in his yard. The Rabbit man If any remember that thread.

Ya, in most places you can't jsut indiscriminantly kill yor neighbour's pets just because they enter your yard. It's actually a crime. Simply call the cops and make sure the guy who saw it is willing to testify.

Then tell whoever'll listen about propylene glycol-based antifreeze. Just as effective as the ethylene-glycol stuff, but about 1/50th as toxic.

Well, IF he was about to give it to my dog, and IF i had my concealed (or not so concealed) handgun available....i would view it as the use of deadly force to prevent imminent destrucution of my property.

Now this seems fishy. Antifreeze has bittering agents in it, in fact, i don't think any normal dog would willingly drink it. So, was this guy forcing it or what?
