Thumbs up tire wear problem

for what it's worth I had terrible vibration problems with my new 2004 F150. To make a long story short, after several tries at balancing, rebalancing, etc. they finally had to replace all 4 tires which fixed the problem.

go get some Michelin LTX M/S...you'll be very happy you did. I'm throwing a set on my truck as soon as these Goodyears start giving out. I just can't justify the $800 to the wife just yet

I'd probably be happy Michelons too, but when I buy a new truck I expect it to perform without added monies for tires. They FINALLY fixed the problem & I was happy.

BTW, Thank you for your service to our country!! I'm retired USCG and was stationed at Groton, CT for a time. My neighbors were all Sub Sailors. A fine bunch. I'm still in contact with a retired "Chief of the Boat". Hank

Hey StevenW, if you look at some of the older posts, you'll see that those Continentals have been a re-occuring problem for people. If you can't get them to give you aftermarket "credit" so you can buy a better tire, see if they'll slap some Goodyear Wrangler At/S on your truck. That's what my truck came with and so far it's been a great tire. Stay away from the BFG's as well. You'll get into similar issues and probly be out of warranty before they pop up.

Thanks you Hankroe.

Did you know your tires are covered under the 3yr 36K mile warranty for excessive wear. There is a TSB out on this. I had mine replaced free of charge at 29K miles. Don't let them give you the run around! If they do call Ford! Print this letter!
