In fact it's probably time to change that filter. For a cord I use speaker wire and a molex connector. Underneath my bed under the front filler tube is a permanently powered mating molex connector I added for this purpose.
The owner of the tranny shop is retiring, and it's not a chain. He's going to let me know by close of business today whether he's selling it to me or not. He said there was one offer slightly lower than mine, and one quite a bit higher than mine, though the higher offer was from a guy who is going to "chase my employees away" to use his words.
Cool idea on the wix. This shop does mostly rebuilds for service stations and other car repair places, and very little retail. They only have two bays, one of which is clogged with boxes and junk, the other has the owners car sitting in it. There is another two bay equivelent of space with metal desks, rollaways, and so forth, where the employees rebuild trannies. While I was looking around a few transmissions came in through the front door right through the small retail counter area to get into the shop. This explains why the grey tiled floor in that area was sopping wet, grossly stained, and a mess lol.

Ford required the filter when servicing the E4OD etc but of course everyone wanted to go low buck, skip the filter install, and then tranny failures result. ALL of the newer electronic controlled trannies could use one of those filters. They are made for PS systems also and I use them. Some tranny shops won't install them because nobody services them. They are pressure relieved so when they fill up they bypass.
