I've just bought a 2004 f150 4x4 4.6L and it has a keyless entry system. I understand that I can get the key code from the computer cover. Is this correct? I've looked on the passenger side under the glove box to the right side and I see fuses and relays and where I think the computer would be, but no cover and no numbers. Can anyone help? Thanks
The Motorola box on the firewall is the truck's computer. You can find the keyless entry code where ohboy44 indicated.
I don't mean to be so out of it, but this truck has no back seat, is a 4 door with about 18" behind the seat. On the passenger side rear is a compartment for the jack, nothing on the driver's side but a full panel that goes across the back.
Sounds like I need to pull that entire panel to get into the corner.
Thanks for all your help.
Does it have a factory keypad on the door? That is the only reason you would need a code and I dont recall a keypad on any standard cab truck. If it is a stick on keypad it is a dealer installed pad and has a keycode of its own, not the one on the module.
Check and see if there is a plastic card in the owners manual wallet that has the keyless entry code (for the touch pad on the door ) printed on it. My '04 and '06 Screws both had the card in the manual wallet.
