My 99, F 150 door locks don't work right. It looks like they are trying to lock, but don't quite go down. Sometimes they will work when I put the truck in drive and sometimes not. There is no definite pattern. I'm not even sure where to start looking first. Anyone had a problem like this or have ant suggestions where to start? Thanks.
do you mean if you lock them manually or with the automatic locks? Check the voltage going to the motor. Compare it to battery voltage, is it the same? The lock motor could be wearing out. Also, if the door is infact locking, the rod that runs from the lock cylinder to the little *** on the door might have loosened up. You can manually tighten the rod by removing the door panel and sliding the rod on the lock cylinder connector i believe to tighten the connection up..
Thanks for the info guys. It seems I can't keep up with replacing parts on this truck. With 105,000 miles, you would think they would last a little longer. My fingers would be sore if I typed in all the parts I have replaced. Thanks again.
