Howdy all. Haven't been here for awhile. Lately we've had an issue with the electric door locks. It started as the passenger side door working intermittently, now it's both. It's the same with the remote or the inside lever, so I've ruled out remote problems. I'm thinking there must be one switch inside that controls them, but other than that I don't have a clue. Sometimes they will work. Any suggestions where to look? With times being a little tough now, I don't want to have to take it to the dealer for something like this. The truck is a 2000 F250 V10 and I'm the original owner. 62,000 miles.
I just purchased my truck about a month ago and all the door locks were not working. I found a thread on the internet on how to remove the actuator, take it apart and then wrap the worn out resistor in a small film of aluminum foil. Put everything back together and it works wonderfully. Do a search on google and see if you can find the how-to. If you cant PM me and Ill find the link when I get back to work on Monday.

Once you get down to the level of taking the motor apart, FIRST take a Magic Marker and run a stripe down the entire length of one side of the motor, making a mark on all the parts.
You want to be sure to put the motor back together afterwards with the parts in the same orientation, as if you put the brush cap on backwards, the motor (and actuator) will subsequently run backward to the direction you want it to. i.e., hit the lock button, it will unlock, and vice-versa. Not good!
