Contest?

I've been thinking about doing a contest every month and giving away a prize. I want to do things a bit different than a truck of the month. I was thinking about something like member of the month or post of the month. Thinking about a t-shirt or Club FTE membership for a prize.

Tooooooooo much thinking by me. My head hurts now. What do you guys say?

Hmm, says me. Not a bad idea Jack.

Maybe one for the most damage inflicted in a outing? Hint, lol.

The member of the month is a sound idea although it may work better to do it by 1/4. Just depends.

Sounds like a good idea Jack. Maybe folks could post some ideas of things that could be done.

Heck even if I won dinner at Mc D's I would be happy. SO Maybe a prize could be free eats at a g2g for the winner. I think each 1/4 would be better then once a month.

We have a little bit to work out on this. Is it going to be for KS chapter members only or will it be open to all registered FTE users. I miss folks posting what is going on. I like to see post where someone is had something good happen and they share it. Or if something not so good happened they would use this second family as a place to share also.

That's why I was thinking post of the month. So if you post pic's of your new truck or damage that occurred or helped someone out with good info or something else it would be in the running. Some things to work out on that also. When to end the month and when to have the voting. We could start the voting for the previous month on the first of the next month and end the voting and declare a winner on say the 5th. Or say end the nominations early and start the voting early so we have the winner at the end of the month.

Just some ideas that are running around in my head.

This sounds like a cool idea. I like the idea of best post and voting open the 1st-5th. I think it should be open to KS chapter members only also. Might be a neat idea to get some to get some acitvity going here. I know I've been slacking alot lately.

This sounds like a good idea Jack. We do need some activity in this group and if you do decide to go through with it send an email to all Ks Chapter members to inform them of it and hopefully get them involved. Its a good idea though and i'll help if i can.

Great idea Jack!!!! I think that an activity like this will get more members involved within the chapter. I do think that it needs to stay within the chapter otherwise you will be incurring costs on shipping your prize out of state. Maybe one of the rules would be is that you need to show up at a GTG to claim this prize.
A no show, prize goes to the runner up. Just tossing my cookies out.

By restricting it to KS chapter members does not make sure we have no shipping. We have KS chapter members in OK, MO, NE, IA, TX, IN, WY, MT, KY, DE, CA, and AB (Canada). And it would be really tough for some of those folks to make gtg to claim the prize.

That is why I was thinking about a 1 year Club FTE membership or a KS Chapter T-shirt. The T-shirt will have shipping no matter where it goes. And the membership won't no matter where it goes.

The free meal is another good idea. Say for two with a $20-25 limit. If we used the club funds for this, and the gtg's is where we made those $$'s, I have no trouble with this being at a gtg. I'd really like to see folks make gtg's but I'd hate to see some one loose the prize because something came up. Maybe give them 3 months to use the free eats or we could buy a gift card.

I was going to contact Ken about a few memberships. I can do a few shirts to get this started.

More ideas folks. If I'm off base let me know. Sometimes I need to be told more than once.

For the prizes you might think about cheap things like bumper stickers, mouse pads, or other inexpensive items as well.

I like the idea of KS Chapt. members only, but understand the issue with members that don't live close or are unable to attend the g2g's. I agree that the prize doesn't have to be expensive. The recognition for best post of the month should generate some interest. We might also, not allow someone to win two months in a row or for a certain period of time to generate more input from different people.
