Was going to make a new thread but saw this one going and thought I would chime in. This past spring I was fortunate to pick up a Lincoln Idealarch DC 250 at a auction for less than $500.00 and I was just able this past week to get it up and running. It may be a bit much for a home shop but I cuoldn't pass on the price. I will have make a cart or stand for everything but it does make a nice addition to my tools.
It`s beginning to look like we should be discussing this in the Garage and Workshop forum....A little off topic but not too bad yet, it`s funny how easy it is to get carried away when we`re having so much fun.
While welding on my 49 F1 (gratuitous truck plug) today with my Millermatic 135 I was very happy that both the amperage and the wire speed are infinately variable. Thats one of the reasons I went with the Miller. I do wish I would have bought the Millermatic 175 but I'm very happy with the 135.
You`re right, it`s on the orginal topic, not a problem. I meant to indicate that it`s more of a topic for the Garage and Workshop forum, it`s fine in here too.
LOL...I figured, I just couldn't resist being a wise-guy
I welded like crazy today, I ran out of shield gas and had to go steel the bottle from my brother-in-laws welder to finish up. If I were a better welder I wouldn't have to spend so much time grinding.
it might have steel gear's.the roller's are steel that guide the wire, also the internal part of the wand is a steel insert that the wire follow's thru to the tip.and thank's for not moveing this thread. make's a different conversation for us in here.hope all had a good thanksgiving, tracy
