Carter is the OEM for the fuel pumps for our trucks. I know that the pump that NAPA sells in a NAPA box is a Carter pump. Look on the side of the pump, if it's a Carter it will have "CARTER" cast or stamped on the side of the pump. I would not buy it from Ford.
No one carries a 400 psi hose. I called NAPA, Autozone etc. Ford does have the hoses in stock. The only hoses I can find are fuel injection hoses rated at 200 psi. Will these work?

The hose everyone has is printed with the spec SAE J30R9.
I bought hose made by Goodyear - it is called Hysunite. It is specifically rated for diesel, although it is rated for 50 psi. You shouldn't need anything rated for 400 psi - the fuel system runs around 70 psi max on the high pressure side.
I understand your pain - I just went through this myself
i just bought the ford hoses. mine were still good even at 170K and the price isn't too bad for jsut the hose. I wouldn't put a hose rated at 50psi on it though. too much work to do if it does blow. not to mention down time and fuel spray fire hazards.
I just did mine, pump from IH was 153.00 (had to special order was out of stock). I just used the fuel injector hose from Napa, have to ask for it they don't keep the high pressure out front. Turned out to be the same hose the IH dealer was going to sell me.
AAAAH! I see it. I will get a mirror and flash light tomorow and see if I can locate the weep hole and determine if that is where the leak is coming from.
If you have a AIC set it up to 2500 and you will see the fuel flying out of the weep hole, no mirror needed At idle and lower RPM's mine didn't leak a bit
Another possible leak source that I found on my 97 was at the end of the tubing that comes off of the banjo bolt. There is a small rubber washer inside of the fitting that makes the seal. It looks like a short piece of vacuum hose. I assumed that my fuel pump was the culprit, but the rubber seal was shredded and causing the fuel to leak down the back of the cylinder head. You may want to check that too, and I would go ahead and replace them anyway even if it is your fuel pump.
