Knock on hard accel when rolling

I rarely stomp the gas in my truck, but today I did while frustrated and noticed when I did it knocked right before it took off. I thought maybe it was a mishap and tried again rolling from 30-40km/hr and stomping it and it does it every time. I'm not too worried about it as I said I very rarely put it to the floor. Anyone happen to notice the same thing? I'll swap out the plugs for new ones and hope I got a bad tank of gas for now.

Josh

Yes like a spark knock. Sounds like an old v8 with real bad timing. Only from a roll tho....If I'm accelerating at a steady pace and then floor it it doesn't do it. Just wanted to know if anyone's experienced a simular problem. I've got almost 60k miles on these plugs.

I have an 04 that does what you just described. Also, It will randomly knock at times under acceleration, hills, etc. It almost seems random. Sometimes it's just fine.

maybe just the computer not compensating fast enough? If it is just a second of knock and it quits, I wouldn't worry about it.

Take note of the octane you are running. Reprogram of the computer may be needed.

Always 87. I'll ask the dealer if they can reprogram my computer next time I'm in. Is there an up to date program?

I believe so, since 2004. Another thing you could do is to try to zero out the learning part of the program and then allow the computer to re-learn your driving habits. This is done by disconnecting the battery for a period of time. I've read in this forum that most do it overnight although the time period is not really that long.
