Ok so am I right when I figure that I need to buy 15 liters of mercon v for my u code 4r70w transmission fluid change? And do all torque convertors have a drain plug on them? Is this a fairly easy process? Any advice, tips and tricks welcome!
some but not all have a 11mm head sized drain plug in the convertor. you will need to spin the motor over to see if it has one. if it dose your flying easy it's not hard at all just messsie.
yep that works but it also dosn't let you see whats laying on the pans bottom. that can tell you if the clutches, bushings or gear sets are wearing to much. ie .gray form clutches, bronze from bushings and shinny from gear sets.
ok guys i need some help here, my torque converter doesnt have a drain plug, how do I get the trans fluid out of there? the cooler lines run from where the pan is, so.... ??? I really want to get this fluid/filter/accumulator change done tomorrow afternoon so I can head out to glamis!
no plug the only way is to flush it. i don't remember where in here the thread or tech article is .but there is a way of doing it at home. i don't do it that way. so which line on the radiator you remove and run into a can while adding fresh oil to the trans and running the motor i kind of lost on.
