I have a 2002 F150 4x4 Crew Cab Lariat. Today I rolled down the back power window but it won't go back up. Seems strange that it goes down but not up. Are there two motors for the power windows? Could just the up motor go out?
There is only one motor for the window. Chances are pretty good that your switch has died.
If you remove switch you can apply 12V to the purple/green wire and ground to the purple/blue wire and the window should move one way. Reverse the power and ground and it should go the other way.
Thanks for the welcome. You mean the switch on the door handle or the motor switch? This is a backseat window and neither the driver's side or backseat control work in the "up" position. Am I making sense?
Sorry, I was thinking about a power sliding rear window. It was a long day
Power to the rear door windows goes through the driver's switch and then to the rear door switches.
The wires you need to power up and ground are yellow/black and yellow/light blue for the L/R window or brown and brown/yellow for the R/R window.
The panels with the switches in them should just pull out of the door trim panels to access the wiring.
Thanks for the help. Yep, it was the Driver's side switch. Truck has 50K miles on it and the warranty lasted to 48K. Ouch, was a $200 fix at the dealer.
