I am having trouble with a wobble in my 76 F150 4WD. I believe its known as "death wobble". Even when my truck is off and sitting there is definitely a noticeable problem. The hood buckles when I move the wheel one direction and not the other. I got under the truck and it seems the only thing it could be is the track bar. I believe it is in the bolt that mounts the bar to the front axle. This bolt has play in it. Could this be the sole cause of my terrible wobble? Also, is the bolt hole sleeved could this have worn out and how can I fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Its the track bar.Mine did the same thing. When you go the get replacement bushing make sure they give you the right thing. No parts store around here knew what track bar bushings were. They all told me they call them radius arm bushings.lol they should run about $12.00-$15.00
Energy Supsension, they have the radius-arm Bushings, the C-bushings (for the radius-arm to axle) AND the track-arm bushings, I think the whole she-bang was under $40 from 4wheel parts. I just did this on my 77, makes a TREMENDOUS difference, note to self,,,, unbolt the radius-arm brackets from the frame BEFORE you attempt the C-bushings.
