highboy front axles?

highboy front axles?
I might be picking up a new to me 77 highboy in the spring. I havent had a chance to look at it yet the guy said 700bucks for it so Im thinking im gonna get it. Just was curious did they come with the dana 60 or dana 44 with the 60 knuckles. I imagine it depends what package was ordered on it from the factory as well. He knows his trucks but was unsure of the front axle I.D.
But it has all the other goodies divorced tcase and narrow frame. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There was never a d44 with d60 knuckles, just 8 lug or 5 lug. A 77 high boy had a dana 44 front axle that was 8 lug with large "external" hubs. (basically the same as drum brake style hubs) but it came with discs. I owned one off the showroom floor.

Hey guys thanks for the info I guess this spring I'll have a new project truck to toy around with. Just wish it would have the dana 60 rather than the 44 I am thinking about just making it into an offroader. But I guess with the rear d60, tcase and c6 tranny I'll have a good start.
