i dont wanna hear anyone talk about a bad ride till they drive a lifted 85-96 f-350.i've been in a super duty and it is like a cadillac compared to my truck
Go ahead and tow a 10,000+ pound trailer or put 2500+ pounds in whatever you want that has "a good ride" and then come back and tell us about it. I am with those who want the stiff ride in a truck. I bought my '87 F-150 with the payload package #2 (1860#) and added load helper springs a few years down the road just to get the "trucklike" ride back. Too bad they're only 2.5" wide or I'd be tempted to pull them and add them as levelers to the front of my 2003 F-350, which has 3" wide leaf springs. IF I want to soften up the ride in the SD, I have a connecting rod from an industrial air compressor to throw in the back. It weighs over 300#...
I do realize it is a truck. But the freeways down here in SoCAl are something else.Anything to improve ride quality is a plus.It is so bad I get off and drive on the streets to get around the real bad stretches of hwy.
All I know is my SD rides like it was floating on a cloud compaired to my DM Mack tri-axle. The cammel back suspension is rather unforgiving on most roads. I feel everything in the mustang also, so the superduty is my luxo riding dream machine. I admit was expecting a firmer ride, but it is nice that it isn't.
