Yeah, I know how to activate/deactivate driving mode, but its not in driving mode. its in 'car kit' mode. I plan on taking it to get it fixed if I can't fix it myself, but I figured I'd try to save myself the drive. I've replaced this phone so many times, I dropped it once and the screen broke... not a good phone for someone who works outside for a living, but they won't let you change for 2 years for some reason.
Because you have a contract to get that phone for the length of time the contract is signed for.
I just got a new LG phone for free because my 3 year agreement ended last week with my Motorola 710V.This was their gift/special offer to me for signing a new agreement
I had one of those and it kept doing that. Here is how you fix it:
#1) press soft key for menu
#2) then press 0
#3) you'll have a service code prompt, type 000000
#4) then type 2 (it should be field tests)
#5) then type 4 (clear errors)
#6) choose yes for clear errors
#7) press clear once
#8) type 1 (Service Prg)
#9) choose ok soft button (in the middle) all the way through until the end. Then the phone will reset.
guys, when its in driving mode, it says driving mode. not car kit. the numbers you guys posted to change driving mode on and off are wrong anyway.. if you press those numbers you end up in the calculator with the number 2 sitting there.
and yes, that is what the contract says. I just don't understand why the contract says it.
hope everyone had a good thanksgiving.. i'm off to watch some more football.
and yes, that is what the contract says. I just don't understand why the contract says it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Because when you got that phone either free or at a low cost..the monthly contract fees pay for the phone and the service.
However, If you purchased another phone at whatever retail or private cost, you can activate it to use instead of the other one.
They will still be getting you to pay for that first phone until that agreement runs its course.
That's why when breaking a contract there will be a contact breaking fee.
Perosnally I thought the Car Kit wire was unplugged from the phone that feature was deactivated.
LG is really stingy on their info.
I'm still trying to figure out how to make a "voice activated call"
So far I can do with with 4 button pushes.... That's too many
My Motorola V710 was easy. I just pressed an side phone buttom and said name dial or digit dial.
texas outlaw: forgot to respond to you earlier, I tried doing what you posed but the phone still will not come out of car kit mode
Well, I'm going to have it fixed/replaced tomorrow morning and see what they say.
The only way I know for mine to have a voice activated call is when it is in driving mode you flip it open and you can say whatever it is you need out of a list that pops up. one of the options is to go into your contacts.
