Ok, i went offroading today and got some really awesome pictures with my picture phone, but i only got to send two of them to my email address before my phone just died. Its an LG VX6100 with verizon service. It just turns on and says Verizon Wireless for a while and then turns off. I took the battery out and tried to 'reboot' it but still nothing.
I used to be a tech for Verizon. I never worked on the 6100, but had a lot of experience working on the 6000, among others. From what you're describing, it's probably fried.
Look at your charging port, see if there's any evidence of corrosion. It'll be white, blue or green, like you'd see on a car battery. Also, look on your battery. See if there's a small circle with a red & white checkerboard pattern on it. If it's there, you're good. If it's gone or smeared, your phone got wet. If it got wet, I hope you have insurance on it, because there's no saving it.
If everything above looks good, then either a) charge just the battery, overnight, if you have a desktop charger or b) charge it with the phone off, overnight, if you have a plug in charger.
I have been having problems with Verizon today, its been telling me that all cicuits are busy all night. It really sucks, but I can still recieve text messages and phone calls. I just cannot make outgoing phone calls.
