with engine cold no power will not accelerate black smoke. changed pcm, throtle pedal assy(tps and idel validation sensors),oil temp sensor, icp sensor, intake air sensor, fuel pump and filters. did not help the problem. if intake air sensor is un pluged vehicle works fine .

Well I think the first thing you should do is run a self test, then what ever code it kicks out will have a diagnostic to go through in the "H" manual. for the year truck you have.. then maybe switch to the powerstroke group for advice we dont have processors on our trucks at least not for the engine. Good luck and happy Thanksgiving
How much money and parts do you want to throw at this truck before you fix it? If you really want to fix it you have two choices keep spending money or find out what is wrong with it.. run a self test run a self test one more time run a self test... find out what the codes are.. and run the correct diagnostic.. this is how you will fix your truck..trust me on this
There may be something wrong with the wiring from the IAT. This is what it does:
The IAT sensor's primary function is to measure ambient air temperature in order to determine when the exhaust back pressure device (EBPV) is needed. An IAT signal that is detected out of range high or low by the PCM will cause the engine to ignore the IAT signal, disable the EBPV and assume an ambient temperature of 59° F.
WHen the EBPV is disabled it will take a couple extra miles of driving to warm the engine and get heat in the cab.
If you live in a warm climate, Unplug the IAT, be happy.
DOES IT MAKE A LOUD WOOSHING SOUND OR LIKE A JET IS TRYING TO TAKE OFF?
Sorry bout the caps
but if you are having this loud sound your EBPV is hanging up for a number of reasons, could be a sensor, could be the seliniod on the turbo that activates the valve, unplug it at the turbo with the engine running when its cold, see if the linkage moves on the turbo to that valve, if it does not move it may have been actuated when it finaly got cold but if you didnt use it all summer it may have gotten siezed or sticky, then when it got cold, it stroked over and got stuck. I've come across this twice on the e-series vans, first time was the oil sensor like mentioned and the 2nd time I gave it a tap with the hammer and the valve opened up after I got cocky and just ordered and replaced the oil temp sensor and still didnt help.
i wouldnt worry about the IAT mine has been setting a code for over a year now lol. truck stil runs well just sometimes takes a little longer to warm up like Jim said it would
