Mr Ed: Sometime when you get a chance go to blueovalnews.com and do some reading and you will soon realize that your new truck was built by a bunch of disgruntled UAW auto workers who are about to get laid off and it will become very clear why you are having problems already but be careful here or yuo will be labeled a ford basher as I have been!!! LOL
hell i dont care if im labeled that way, i bought a brand new truck and so far the experience sucks... ive had lots of cars.. so far this is the worse!
What did you buy???? My early build 04 5.4 is just a slow pig have had it to 3 dealers and I have all the latest computer reflashes and now they are telling me I may have a carbon build up problem at 24K miles?????Go figure.

I think it's time for your to change over to the Chevy you talk so highly about...
Hey Mred,
Cant blame ya for being pissed. Just make the best of it and be sure they hook you up with a replacement while they try to figure yours out. Ask the salesman to trade vehicles with him and let him drive it a day or two and make sure its right. THEN call you to bring your truck to you and pick his truck up. I carried mine in for first oil change this week. Salesman said to take his and go if I needed to be anywhere. I was in no hurry so sat and read the paper and chatted with a few folks around the place. And no I dont live in a small town, This is a large dealer in Memphis, TN.
Try to be patient and let them work it out, Dont let them BS you to death, Be firm.
When my wifes Mustang was giving trouble under warranty.... I took it to them and asked them to fix it. Picked it up.... circled lot to leave an it did same thing. Rolled back around and said gimme the keys to that other car. Blessed the service writer out and said call me again when its fixed and you have personally tested it. I dont think its too much to ask for the writer to personally review the work. Get the next person in line up to management involved. Get the sales side of the dealer involved.
Good luck. I feel they will get this glitch fixed and you will have a good truck. In the mean time is can and does **** U OFF ROYAL.
Ford makes a very good truck. I understand your frustration with what your experiencing right now through.
Making such generalizations such as ALL ford trucks suck?
Talk to the service manager and ensure they realize the issues you've been having. They should take care of your truck and you.
Ford makes a very well built truck....the GM trucks are also good. Most people tend to love what they drive.....this wouldn't be true if one brand consistantly sucked.
Buy from American companies...
I just read in the Austin paper that the Nissan Titan is the most unreliable full size truck on the market.....go figure for those of you who bad mouth American auto brands.
I have read where Ford has put the screws to the suppliers to cut costs big time and this is showing up in the Quality side of things. Personaly I've been a "Ford guy" for most of my life but the 06 F150 I have is starting to make me think about Toyota. The F150 has really bad alignment of interior pieces, it didnt jump out at me during the test drive but now that I've had the truck a while I see a lot of misaligned pieces. Almost seems like there are so many peices to the dash they couldnt line it up properly.
Ive also been having a driveline shuddering issue since I bought it, it now has 1280 miles on it, on it's third trip to the dealership next week. My first couple of F150's never even went to the dealer again after I bought them. This really makes me feel bad that an American company as established as Ford can fall so far. I just dont get why their European cars are so damn nice but the North American ones are bland and powerless (excluding the Mustang of course). For example look at the Focus and the differences between what we get and what the Euro's get, the difference is huge.

Yeah, but cars in general are more expensive in Europe. For example, Volkswagen GTI is about $33,000 in England and that same car is $22,000 in the USA.
Same thing with Focus. Base Focus starts at ~$14,000 and has 80 hp engine in England. We get 136 hp Focus for same price. Or Focus ST, car that many people would like to see in the USA. It costs $31,000 in England. Would anyone pay $31,000 for Focus in the USA?
